My business is closing, need dollar info on two older trucks to sell to employees. 99 Chevy Box Truck & 99 Chevy Utility truck. HELP

My business is closing and two employees want to buy the trucks they used. The business was a landscaping/fence business. The trucks are both old and have a lot of miles on them and are in poor and fair condition. I am trying to find a $value for them but can't find a source for the information. Can anyone help??? Linda

Usually online price guides go back a few years. I would start by browsing the local classifieds for similiar vehicles, and see what people are ASKING for them.

As a rule of thumb, take off 10-20% for actual selling price.

old high mileage work trucks will be worth $1000-2000 forever. as long as they are running that's what they are worth.

but... you are going out of business.. and have two tired old trucks, and two employees needing new jobs, why not give them the trucks as a severance pacakge? then you can value them at $5000-8000 and take a huge tax savings? (ask your accountant)

Depending on the condition, I've seen these go for anywhere between $3-$5K.
