    get somebody to help you, lift the hood & see if the throttle cable is free and able travel its full range of movement by operating the pedal with the engine off..its not uncommon for a metal cable to stick inside its plastic cover a small burr from the movement inside can cause this..if so you can remove the engine end of the cable and spray some light lube down the cable..

    You need to adjust the throttle body. Adjustable screw usually found underneath throttle body.
