My high beams work fine, but for some reason when I switch to low beams my left headlight turns off. Chevrolet S-10. Help!

The guy that sold me the truck said the left headlight was simply burnt out. Now that I've replace the headlight, it only works for high-beams and running lights.

I think the problem is likely in the connector at one end or the other of the wiring between dashboard switch and headlight, probably the headlight end.

but possibly could be the dashboard switch itself - swapping the switch with one from another S-10 might be easy/inexpensive.

maybe shine a strong on the connectors with the headlight unplugged, maybe you will see damage or where it needs to be pried apart to enable a contact? any visible rust on the connectors - maybe file/sand it so it's shiny.

myself and other oncoming drivers thank you for working on fixing the problem - best regards!
