    If you have a trailer hitch, make sure you do not have a short in the hitch wiring. This will sometimes cause the park/brake lights to stay on. You should also check the relay in the fuse box. Switch the lights relay with any other relay in the box and see if that cures the problem. If so, get a new relay. Next, check the switch connector at the bottom of the steering column. These tend to get water splashed on them and corrode. Disconnect and clean the connrections with electrical contact cleaner or WD-40 and an old toothbrush. If all this fails, then you do need a new light switch. Good luck!
