In most situations, I could look up the gear ratios and give you a concrete answer. However, the Rogue has the new CVT transmission. In a CVT there are no gears, it is a continous variable set up that is entirely controled by the programming in the engine/transmission computer. This means that when you shift down from OD, the programming in the computer picks what it considers the optimal rev point for the transmission. Looking at the stats, peak torque on the Rogue comes in at a lofty 4,400 RPM. So, I am not surprised that the computer takes you up to 4,000 RPM when you disengage the OD at 60 MPH. The computer is assuming you need maximum grunt for passing or other high speed maneuver. This is probably why the Rogue is 2 seconds quicker to 60 MPH than the Honda CR-V at full throttle.
