On a 1992 Subaru SVX, where does the metal washer go that came with the oil filter? Crush washer? Goes on oil drain plug?

I have a 1992 Subaru SVX and I need to change the oil, I ordered a genuine Subaru oil filter that came with a metal ring or washer. I need to know where this washer goes. Does it go on with the oil filter or on the oil drain plug? I know that this may seem like a stupid question but I am a first time Subaru owner and want to follow original equipment specs on servicing, and I cant find the answer in a Subaru SVX service manual.

When I got the car it had a Fram oil filter already on it, and oddly enough its the same filter as a 1994 Honda Accord LX in case anyone wanted to know(fram#3593A).

Oil drain plug. The only oil filters that would require any kind of washer would be the drop-in cannister type, not the spin-on type.
