Our 2001 has a switch on the dash to the left of the steering column that turns off the power door function, but the doors are not all that easy to open and close in manual mode.

Do you notice any difference in door operation when the motor is running vs. when it is turned off? Our Sienna will start to have internmittent problems operating the doors with the motor off, when the battery is about to go out. If the van is running, they operate fine.

    Just FWIW.

I have cleaned the battery cabels and alos replaced the battery. The door acts the same weather the van is running or not. Mechanic states inner parts may need to be replaced like the sensor

It is possible to disconnect the door and use it as a manual. When the
dealership told me it would cost $1800+ out of my pocket at 48K miles
to replace the door cable, I told them to disconnect it. They argued
about it, then did it. It cost me an hour labor. Door worked fine as
    a manual.
