On a VW Jetta, what does dashboard symbol exclamation point within two parenthesis mean?

We can't figure out what the dashboard symbol on the VW Jetta means that looks like a yellow exclamation point between 2 parenthesis? We thought it was a programmed message but can't figure out how to read it. Could it be a message about the manual brakes? Thanks for your help, Steve

I remeber when I was a child seeing that symbol on my mothers freinds VW, I think it means service engine soon, but I am not positive. When the car is off you may be able to shine a flashlight onto the instrument cluster and read what all the warning lights are, then you would be able to see what the rest of the lights are, so then you can get an idea of what the light that is on pertains to.

I have an Audi and that symbol is tire pressure. Probably the same. Once my pressure is returned I have to do a reset on the message.
