Problem with drivers side lock on Ford Explorer Sports Trac.

Vehicle: 2001 Ford Explorer Sports Trac: Problem: Key won't unlock drivers side door, when you use the key, it seems to be stuck, it will turn some, just not enough to unlock door and if it truns all the way it is like your forcing it. The power door lock will not unlock door, other doors will unlock, but drivers side will move but won't unlock. Keyless entry acts the same as the power lock. Handle on door a lot looser the the handle on the passenger door. It will flap in the wind while driving down the highway. Can always open drivers door from inside handle when you want to exit vehicle or enter vehicle from passenger side. Took door panel off drivers side, but can't see anything obviously wrong.

I have the exact same problem but my inside handle is broken also. I was able to take of the inside door handle and get the door open (Three weeks of climbing accross the passenger seat sucked) and apart. I beleive my issue and yours possibly is the Lock Actuator. Like you I could not use the external handle (like your passenger side flaps in the breeze) and the key would not turn and the key faub or external keypad did not work. Mine appears to be rust and wd40 did not cut it. I had to disconnect it so it would stop locking it so I could get in. I am going to order one through ebay. I also ordered the external and internal handles and hope to fix it all this weekend.

Hope this helps.
