I have a '96 ES300, bought new, now with 140k, and I have every expectation it will get to 200 k without major problem (engine or transmission). However, the 200k to 300k period is hard to tell with any car. The ES series is heavily based on the Camry, and both are quite reliable. The #1 thing you should be looking for is a car with a fully documented maintenance history (receipts, etc), that show it was maintained by the book. All cars will need repairs, you just want to improve your chances of finding one that'll get you to 200k (and, possibly, 300k) with only routine repairs.
