Saturn Astra 2000. I took off brake switch from top pedal. Brake light stuck on. Switch is not working.

i have a Astra from 2000 and the rear brake is stake on. i take off brake switch from the top of the brake pedal and the light stay on, i take to a garage and they disconnect the switch for now but the light stay on.
and they told me for take the car for a electric expert.

In Maintenance & Repair > Lights > Brake lights

Are you sure this is the brake light or is it the running light bulb? I'm thinking the latter, and you might have a short in the headlight switch.
