    You might have a bad water pump, air conditioning compressor, or alternator. Because a timing belt doesn't commonly make the kind of noises you describe; I would be very careful to locate the source of the noise before throwing a timing belt at it. There even might be a problem in the electric power steering system.

    Regarding the best place to have a timing belt changed; I would phone several independent shops, as well as the dealer, and compare prices. Most independent shops would be capable of doing this job as well as the dealership.
