Toyota Land Cruiser navigation system in different countries.

Thank you very much for taking the trouble in answering me,that,s very kind of you. Toyota people in Jeddah say the NAV system used in USA is different than the one used in GCC,is that right?Thanks.

Hi, Very glad to be of help. It simply makes no sense that the system would be different because the satellite system used by GPS devices is the same all over the world right now. There is only one GPS system right now called GNSS. The EU is working on a new one but it is not operative. It uses between 24 and 32 MEO satellites that transmit precise signals, which enable all GPS recievers to determine their current location, the time, and their velocity. Its official name is NAVSTAR GPS and is managed by the US Air Force. However, the mapping software you need is different and that is why I suspect you just need a new DVD.
