Thanks for your response to my RAV4 mileage question. Please see below.

I'm almost at 2.5k. I have heard that it takes a little time for the mileage to optimize, but I expected to see some gradual improvement as the miles are adding up. I'm not seeing any improvement yet.

Will using the AC cancel out the improvement that the warm weather will bring?

Any additional input will be appreciated.

My experience has been that the warm weather will improve mileage even with AC use.

Some have said that a car will get better mileage once the engine is broken in. That hasn't been my experience but others have noticed a difference.

I'm not sure where you are, so I don't know exactly how cold it is here. Our Highlander looses about 3 mpg somewhere between below freezing and room temp. I read somewhere (I think tundrasolutions forums) that the Toyota electronics take a big hit somewhere around 50 degrees. Not sure, just have seen the difference between summer and winter.

Using the AC won't have that large of an impact, it will be 1mpg at most.

You'll see a bit of difference at your first oil change, the assembly lube is thicker than the 5w20 you'll get it changed with, I think you're due at 5k miles?
