The check engine light, VSC light and traction control light came on in my 2006 Toyota Avalon. Engine also misfires.
Just driving along when the check engine, VSC and traction control indicators came on. Drove for awhile and then the engine seemed to misfire a few times. I checked to see if the gas cap was loose and retightened it. Made an appointment at the Toyota dealer. The lights remained on .I shut the engine off at the dealers and when I turned it on again the lights were off. I told the service rep. that the lights had been on for 2 days. He rechecked the gas cap. I said I had done that and he said it may take awhile before the lights go out. I drove home without servicing the car or checking the code history because my trouble lights were clear. Sure enough, about half way home the engine, VSC and traction control trouble lights were back on again. Just wondering without the code numbers what the problem might be. Thanks.
