Check that the 10A guage Fuse is okay, as well as the 10A Tail Fuse. If both are those are confirmed as okay, then I'd look to replace the Taillight relay.

The two fuses are near each other on the main Junction Block.

The relay is on the backside of that Junction Block. In the middle of that block there are three relays power/defogger/taillight.

Good luck.

Look in your owners manual, I believe it gives you a picture. It's by your left knee.

Look at them, if it (they) are visibly burnt then you'll know it's bad (probably 75%of the time you can see it). Sometimes you can't tell it's bad unless you use an ohmmeter. If you don't have an ohmmeter (usually on any analog or digital multimeter), then you could always just replace them both. Fuses are cheap and available at many stores including autoparts chain stores, just take one of your old ones so you are sure you get the right physical size, and amperage.

Kiawah- thanks so much for your help
here is what I did - I checked the 10A fuse and it indeed was blown - so then I got another 10A fuse and put it in and turned on the headlights, the running light still did not turn on and then i re-check the new 10A fuse and it was blown!

now I have no idea what to do.....please help!!!

thanks so much
