keithv	Volvo S60 offers "self supporting tires" as an option. Are these run flats and will these add noise in the cabin? I'm considering the S60, and it doesn't come with a conventional spare. The donut spare can be added, but takes up trunk space. I see that "self supporting tires" are available as an option. If these are run flat tires, that might address the issue. I've never had a car with run flats before, though. Will these change the handling, ride or interior noise?

The Self Supporting tires are run flat tires available as an option but you must include Njord 17" Alumuinum wheels. There is a little compomise in ride but probably not in handling, there is no additional interior noise with these tires. The best thing is to drive one yourself with this feature. Don't ask a salesperson about details concerning the tire go to the Service Department and ask the Service Manager to get a better answer. When I was a Fleet Manager I'd often ask them any technical questions before a business owner would order vehicles in order to have the correct answer.
