We own a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. When you turn the windshield wipers on, they don't want to shut off,

The windshield wipers go even after you shut them off and don't shut off until they want to. They stop where ever they feel like it on the windshield. Please let me know what this can be. I am blind in my right eye and need all the help I can get seeing. When it is raining it is hard enough to see as it is, without this problem. I know about the Rainex idea. I told my daughter about that when her motor went out on her 1995 Buick. Please help me. Going nuts in Ohio.

You need to replace the wiper motor. The park circuit is malfunctioning. Inside the motor/gear assembly there is a circuit that senses when the wipers are in their down position. The circuit maintains power to the wipers until they are parked at the bottom of the windshield, then cuts the power to the motor. This circuit also parks the wipers between wipes when they are on their intermittent setting. In your case, the circuit is stuck open as if the wipers have not parked and so the wipers continue to run.
