What are my rights legally when I was hit by a 16 year old that did not have insurance or a license?

I bought a car 10 days ago, and had not had the insurance transferred from the car that I traded. I was hit by a 16 year old, that had no license and no insurance. His parents say they will pay for everything. What if they don

Contact an attorney. Most insurance companies will cover you on a new car purchase the same as a rental. However, the parents are legalally liable.I would contact my insurance company and an attorney. Do not trust the parents to follow through.
