glenflen	What automatic transmissions will interchange with a 1999 Subaru Outback, 2.5,dohc, # tz1a2zjeba. Has the spin on external filter. I'm trying to find what auto transmissions will fit a 1999 Outback. There were two trans made in 99, one w/t a internal filter, and one with a external. I can't find one in my area, but can find several 95-98. I know that all 95-99 are the same gear ratio (4.44). Thanks for any information.

trans id = R4AX-EL shows to be in baja 03-04,forester 98-04, impreza 93-97, impreza/wrx 98-04 outback an station wagon 98-04 hope this helps
