What computer governs the check engine light
My car won't pass smog. I was told that the computer needed to be changed and I was quoted a $1000.00 to repair. I don't have that can of money so I need to the do the repair myself. bbdw

Was that a diagnosis or a guess? You should have the trouble codes pulled (you can do this at Autozone) and post them.

Yes that was a diagnosis, I was able to get help through Consumer Affairs department. I went to one of the shops on their list. I checked the code and went to Auto Zone and I could not reset the computer. The Code PO601. bbdw
