Invoice is $22,719.
To get the actual dealer cost, first subtract holdback. Holdback for Chevy's is 3% of the base MSRP (3% of $23,790 or $713.70 in this case).
So that gets you down to $22,005.30, assuming that the car hasn't sat on the lot long enough to eat into that holdback.
Then you have to subtract:
bonuses
spiffs
cruises
any other manufacturer to dealer payments
any advertising reimbursements or other marketing support
And who knows what else - the dealer may not even know how much the unit cost is until the year end financials are finished.
Then there are consumer incentives - these are paid directly to the buyer so it really doesn't affect the dealer cost. Right now the incentive on an Impala in my area is $3,250.
After all is said and done, people in my zip code are paying around $20,360 for a new LS without options right now. That price includes destination ($825) but not taxes or doc fees.
Find the TMV for your own zip code and that's the price to try to beat.
