Default pressure fo a tire on most cars is between 32-34 psi. You can also find the pressure in your owner's manual. If you are missing the owner's manual, you can get one online for free. Just go to:http://www.gm.com/gmownercenter/chevy/Good luck!
Impalas with 225/60/16 tires have a recommended tire pressure of 30psi. I have found that running them at 32psi gives the best ride/handling/steering response.
