Worst advice - that the salesman will know a lot about the car. Nope. Use sites like Edmunds to read the Editorial reviews, road tests and consumer reviews to learn about the car. Your username implies you are a car salesman.

I was just at the Toronto auto show and we talked to Toyota Prius Engineers - they claimed not to be aware of the fuel tank bladder problem. This leads me to agree to the above answer. The real good answers come from the internet - forum of people who actually own the car and are willing to share their knowledge with others to help others. On the Prius Bladder problem - I learned more from Edmunds and PriusChat. The worst advise from a car salesman - 1. Somebody else was looking at this car this morning?????2. The Manager cannot go any lower on the price of this car.3. I haven't heard of any problems with this car? and finally 4. Be doubtful of any answer that begins with "I think".....

All the advice I've received from outsiders has been great. It's the car salesmen that don't know what they're talking about which is why I go straight to the GM.

well you do make a good point you should go to edmunds and kbb to get a good idea but just like when im buying furniture i want to know everything about what im buying whats covered whats the high points. I mean i have been to dealerships when a salesperson has popped an rx-8 engine and said its a rotary its great and not known what the hell a rotary is. so ocasionally you do run into the salesman who is just looking for a job not really good at selling anything but any vetran will know or if they dont they will tell you they dont and go find it for you. just like in any other field there is some people who just flat out suck.... but think about it your around the damn cars all day and there isnt always customers around of course your gonna know the cars in and out

Good morning folksI agree with ray as you can tell i am a car salesman and a professional , I have doing it for almost 30 years and have been very successful at. For the most part I have only worK for one Auto Group (except when I had my own small used car lot) and I am a family man and learned a long time ago that pressure selling does not work. I try to find the best fit for my customer's budget and needs and if I don't know the answer I will tell you and go find out the correct one for the customer. For the most part real salsmen are hard working family people. It's just like any profession a few rotten apples can ruin a whole basket.RegardsISELCRS
