    Use only Dexron IV ATF fluid. Drain it from the tranny pan. Filter is inside the tranny accesible when you drop the pan. A pan drain will remove about 1/3 the fluid which is all you need for normal service. If you want to drain it all, replace the filter and pan, refill, remove the cooler return line from the radiator and attach a clear plastic tube and reservoir to collect it (water jug works), start the engine, put it in drive with the emergency brake on and let it flow out till it runs clear through the tube, then top off to the correct level.
