What does rear lamp failure light mean on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I have a 97 jeepgrand cherokee 4x4 and it keeps telling me rear lamp failure. What does that mean? And my interior lights dont come on when I open the doors could it be a fuse?

In Maintenance & Repair > Electrical > Gauges
In Maintenance & Repair > Lights > Turn signals
In Makes & Models > Jeep > Grand Cherokee

rear lamp = tail lights and/or brake lights

As far as the interior lights it could be the fuse or the door switch.
