    First make sure it is not a service light reminder for regular maintenance like an oil change. If not, do try removing the gas cap again and make sure it is screwed on as tight as possible. It should go out within a few miles if that is the problem. If not, go to your local auto parts store and get a free OBDII scan to see what fault codes come up. This will tell you what is triggering the light.

    In addition to replacing the cap try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. That should help to clear the code.

    did you reset the light afterr you check the gas cap pass by auto zone and ask them to reset it they are good onve that but don lisen to them on the diagnostics they give
