What should I pay for a 30,000 mile checkup?

My dealer wants me to take out a second mortgage to finance our 30,000 mile checkup! Not really, but it is awfully expensive and I feel like I am being taken advantage of. So, what SHOULD I be paying for this checkup?

You can find approximate maintenance costs (as well as lots of other helpful things) in the Maintenance Schedules, Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins section. Go to http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/Maint... and fill in the details of your vehicle as prompted. You'll get the information you need.

You should do your 30k maintanance on your vehicle. Whether you go to your dealer or a independent is up to you. Take the recomendations from your dealer and shop the prices from independence shops.
