5,000 miles? I'm surprised that the dealer didn't say 3,000 miles, since they love to get people into the shop for unnecessary oil changes so they can upsell other services to them. Good for your dealer!

I go 5,000 miles on one of my cars and 7,500 between changes on the other one. Just like it says in the owner's manual. Both cars are over a decade old, and one has 150,000 miles on it.

If I had a nice new Cruze, I'd just let the oil life monitor tell me when to change the oil.

    Enjoy the new ride!
