    Demand has to be there. Lots of people in the US don't like diesels for various real or imagined reasons. You can read all about it in the What Would It Take for YOU to buy a diesel car? forum here.

    Since Toyota now owns a small chunk of Subaru, my guess is that they'll try to focus more on a hybrid for the US market using Toyota technology. Last I heard, they were hinting at a hybrid for the 2012 model year.

    You should also let Subaru corporate and your local dealer know that you want the diesel. We have the USPS address for Subaru listed on our FB info page.
