chrissymustang	Where is the fuel pump on a 2000 Ford Explorer? Is it in the tank? I think I need to replace it. Any hints? I have a 2000 explorer, that will only run when I put a little starting fluid in the injectors but will only run momentarily. I've changed the filter and checked the fuses for the fuel pump. I suspect the pump has gone bad. where is the pump located and is there anything else I should check before I change the pump

Fuel pump is most likely in the fuel tank, if you disconnect the fuel line and turn on the key and no fuel comes out, either the filter is plugged or pump is bad.

Before you start tearing things apart, consider replacing the fuel pump relay ($10).
