Where is the OBD-II connector on a 2002 Ford Escape? (Electrical Sensors Ford Escape)

ibigdaddyme	Where is the OBD-II connector on a 2002 Ford Escape? I have looked around the drivers side compartment under the dash and all and I can't find it any where.

Should be attached to the instrument panel, driver's side, has a 16 pin outlet.

I own a 2002 escape and the connection port is on the drivers side just behind the lower dash running front to back, not parralel to the dash.
