Which is more long trip reliable for business: Saturn Relay, Ford Freestyle, Dodge Caravan, Ford Windstar?

I currently drive a Volvo 240 '92 wagon, 360,000 miles and am beginning to worry about its dependability even tho it is doing fine. I need cargo space equal to that, or more, and drive primarily on highways with about 300 lbs of load plus luggage. Have looked at several wagons, minivans, crossovers and vans, just not sure which way to go. Any suggestions?

I owned a Ford Windstar for 6 years and it wasn't very reliable. The Windstar is very unpleasant on long journeys, but it's fairly inexpensive for what otherwise isn't a bad car. The Dodge Caravan isn't very good either, avoid any 2001 caravan, because in crash tests the gas tank leaked which could cause the car to catch on fire. The Saturn Relay is okay aside from terrible build quality and a badly designed interior. The Ford Freestyle is more expensive than the other vehicles you mentioned, but it's a very well designed car that in nice to drive, great for long trips, and gets good gas mileage. You should look at the Volvo 850, V70, or XC70. they're more like the 240 you have now, but are less expensive. I had a 1995 850 and a family member still drives it now, the family member also has a 2003 Buick Century, that is less safe, in worse mechanical condition despite having less than half the mileage of the Volvo, and the interior has more wear and tear. The Subaru Outback is another great alternative.

Thanks so much for all your help. I ended up buying a Kia Sedona, and I love it. The Volvo still sits in the driveway and needs a new home, either in pieces or as a whole!

Take care.......
