    My first guess is that you have a malfunctioning "blending door"---a flap in the heat/AC plenum under the dash that is activated by an actuator (either vacuum or electrically controlled)---and that this flap is closed off, blocking hot air from your side and sending all of it to the passenger. If you or a mechanic can isolate the culprit, and if it's reasonably accessible, it shouldn't cost too much to fix. You might dive under there and see if you can spot something like that going on, while you work the various heat controls. If you are going to work with the engine running, be sure it's in park or neutral and lock the emergency brake firmly.
