Why was the Toyota Matrix 03 dash panel and door switches not illuminated. I want to change that. How?

Thanksgiving my old 90's Toyota was stolen. Had to get a new one. Try the Toyota Corolla but I too tall and my knees hit the steering wheel.
I had to get the Corolla Matrix red 03 XT. I fit comfortably. I notice that there is no illumination on the driver's side dash light switch control switch and all the door switches and the above electric sun roof switch.

I would like to know how I can change this?

In Makes & Models > Toyota > Matrix
In Maintenance & Repair > Lights > Interior lights
