Will the dealer budge on GM Employee Discount prices? I'm looking for an 08 Impala, and was hoping to negotiate.

I'd like to finance the car for no more than 20K. With incentives and employee pricing, I'm currently looking at 19+. Hoping to get them down about 1000-1500 to cover tax (NV). Are these guys budging at all on this employee price?

GM employee pricing is approximately invoice - 10%. It is also an optional deal for each dealer as to whether they want to participate or not. There is certainly no harm in asking the dealer what you want as the worse he can say is no.

I think the current incentive deal is $2250 off MSRP, but I don't know how that relates to Employee discount or to GM financing. I'm not sure if you can work incentives and Employee Pricing together.

Best thing is to just tell them what you want to pay and let them figure out how to get there. If you try 2 or 3 dealers and all of them let you walk at the price you offered, then you are too low.

It really comes down to how much time and effort you are willing to spend to play this game with them vs. getting the car.

Doing the pricing on a base LS with no other options, I got $19,937 with incentive thrown in. Now if they knocked 10% off that for Employee Pricing, then you are home free.
