XM Satellite radio or Sirius?

Does it matter? I'd like to get satellite radio. Since I'm not buying a new car with a package already included, I'm not sure which to go with.

They are trying to merge so it may not matter soon. As for now, it all depends on what interests you most. You can check out their websites or read the carspace forums for more opinions. You may also want to check other users in your area. Sometimes one works better than the other because of the satellite location.

I'm very pleased with XM.

The only thing that may matter to you is the specific programming on each. One may have specific sports which isn't available on the other.

XM has a special Bob Dylan show which isn't available on Sirius. I would check their websites and see if it matters to you. The specific programming will probably be the only thing to think about.

There is a slight difference in monthly subscription. Check it all out and visit their webpages.

I agree, it's a matter of programming more than anything else.

If you'd like to join a discussion about the programming offers of both services, and some strong opinions on which is better, try joining the XM vs. Sirius topic: http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX/.e...

I believe XM has a few more stations but as posted already depends on which programing you'd like. And they do plan to merge so you'll be getting a combination eventually anyway.
