Can I add a turbocharger to a 2007 Toyota Camry hybrid?

I HAVE A 2007 CAMRY HYBRID, I WANT TO ADD 18 INCH TIRES AND A SUPERCHARGER TO MY VEHICLE.

1. ADD 18 TIRES
2. ADD A SUPERCHARGER TO THE FOUR CYCLINDER ENGINE WITHOUT HURTING THE BATTERY SYSTEM?

The best source for this information would be to send an e-mail to Toyota Racing Development (website address referenced below). They have developed supercharger kits for many Toyota engines; and if anyone is involved in performance tuning for hybrids; it would be them. But if you don't already realize this; you need to know that installing much larger diameter wheels and tires on your car will numerically lower the overall gear ratio. This will slow the car's acceleration in all gears. Beacuse you have a 4 cylinder engine; the reduction in performance will be far worse than if it was done on a car with a larger engine. Are you sure that this is what you really want to do???

I very much doubt you can add a supercharger to the TCH, the gas and electric engines are very carefully matched, and the gas engine is not the same at the regular gas engine in the Camry, other Toyotas, or Scions. You can go to 18" wheels, as long as you go with appropriate tires to maintain the overall diameter. You will get a rougher ride, poorer economy, and shorter tire life, though.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I will keep the same type of low friction tires on my Camry and forget the turbo or super charger.
