KBB prints optimistic retail values, or what dealers would put on window stickers. Edmunds uses averages of transactions for vehicle purchases.

Many times, KBB is late in their evaluation of what your vehicle will be worth. Think of what 3 weeks could do to your trade-in value.

Both are supported by advertisers, but KBB seems to run a little late on their evaluations. Edmunds seems to have a little bit better handle on what realistic prices are.

Good luck!
