do I need a special tool to work on rear brakes on 93 eagle talon tsi awd coup hatchback
I heard you need a special tool to compress the cylinder to get the pads in.

You have a couple options to compress the caliper piston. You can go buy a caliper piston compressor or you can use a large c-clamp and place one of your old pads over the piston and slowly tighten it down. i'd make sure to go slow so that you don't compress the piston more on one side than you do on the other and pinch the seal. But if you crack the bleeder you shouldn't have that problem
