how do u tell the difference between a lock up and non lock trans. 2.0 5 speed 2000 yr model sentra

i am trying to buy a trans 4 my 2000 sentra GTR , it is a 5 speed and lock up diff. the wrecking yards arent shure how to tell the difference. is there a number to match ? or something? please help me to identify the difference vin.

well if the donor car's trim is the same as yours, the parts should be the same. If it's just the part then I don't know. If you can find out the part number for your transmission then you can use that to find an exact match

First thing I'd do is research whether the LSD was even an option on the GTR. If it's standard equipment, then all you need do is take another off a GTR. If it was an option, you'll need an ID number, probably from the dealer's microfiche. Many diffs have ID tags or casting numbers on them.
