You have to remember that a dealer invests some $$$ and labor in a certified car, which is why they cost more. So you aren't going to get a Certified car for the same price as one that didn't make the grade.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that Certified cost more than regular used car. but not sure how much bargain you can make out of it (unlike new car, you can do something like 1500 under invoice)... Maybe I can post question in the forum, to see that other folks' experiences are.

Some dealers skimp on the certification program, even when the manufacturer has set out clear standards for what should be done. See How to Buy a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle at Edmunds (linked below).

Some bargaining points - tell the dealer your mechanic will check out any used car anyway so Honda's 150 point inspection doesn't mean everything to you. And you can hint that you can get a 7/100 aftermarket warranty from an independent company that will cover more than the powertrain. Good luck!

You'll never have a way of knowing. You don't know how much they paid for the vehicle and you don't know how much they put into the vehicle for refurbishing. If you think the deal is fair, take it. If not, make an offer.

Good luck!
