how to change the exterior brakelight for a 2007 Nissan Sentra

manual just shows where it is on the outside of car, no instructions. I can tell it can't be replaced from the outside. Difficult to tell how to do it from inside. Removed thin insulated cloth, lights are covered by a piece of metal. Do I somehow remove that piece to get to the bulb?

All tailight systems are different and sometimes the bulb access point is hidden away. Many auto parts stores will help you locate the access point when you go to buy the replacement bulb. Also, next time you take it in for an oil change, you can ask the mechanic to help locate it. If you plan to do minor repairs yourself, do buy a Haynes Manual for the car. It will have detailed information on where all the critical parts are located.
