i have a 2005 Dodge 2500 diesel. My average fuel mileage is far below what others are claiming. 610klm on 110 lt empty.

this is far below what my brother gets i know because we have run together the dealer thinks it runs great thank you hugh

In Makes & Models > Dodge > Ram Pickup 2500
In Maintenance & Repair > Fuel Efficiency (MPG)
In Fuel Type / Drivetrain > Diesel

That can be quite a number of things (1 of them even being driving habits) and is a hard issue to reslove without looking at the vehicle. Honestly I would start with driving habits : Correct tire pressure
Easing up on the pedal on the take offs
Coasting as far as possible to red lights
Cruise control whenever possible
Easing the gas pedal as oppsed to stomping it to pick up speed
Since changing my habits I noticed an average gain of 3mpg in congested city traffic. Not everyones driving habits are the same so numbers vary.
I would start there first for a tank full of gas and see how much it improves then move the trouble shooting (if that is not the problem) to things like the air filter, wires, plugs etc.
