You'll need an oil filter cap wrench, sized to fit the oil filter. This can be purchased at any autoparts chain, right next to where you buy filters. Should cost 3-4 bucks. This fits over the end of the oil filter, and allows you to put a 3/8" extension into the end of it, to turn the filter off.

Need an oil filter, see autoparts chain.

Need oil, see autoparts chain.

Will need a closed end wrench or socket, sized to fit the oil drain bolt on the bottom of the oil pan.

Need the previously mentioned 3/8" extension on a socket handle.

That's the minimum you'll need.

However, you'll need to get under the vehicle, so depending upon the height of the vehicle, you may need a set of ramps if you don't have someplace with a mound that you can drive up on to gain the needed clearance. See autoparts chain, probabaly 20-30 bucks. You will also need something to catch the oil in when it drains out. See autoparts chain, they make a number of different types to catch the oil and provide an outlet to drain the container later.

Once the new oil is in the engine, I pour the old oil back into the oil jugs, drop off at any oil autochange place or your local recycle landfill where they take oil.

Nothng to it, I just changed one of my vehicles this afternoon, took 15 mins beginning to end, including checking the air in the tires and all the other fluids.

Changing to synthetic is the same as any oil change.
Synthetic oils are generally better than conventional oils. This is particularly true if the engine revs high due to either design or driving style
