installing OEM hitch on 06 4runner. after intalling the hitch, will it look like the factory intalled hitch?

have an 06 4runner, planning to install OEM hitch. I would like my 4 runner to look like it had the factory installed hitch. I am willing to cut a portion of the rear bumper for the hitch receiver. Is this possible?

If it is a genuine OEM hitch, then youu shouldn't have to cut anything. Go to your Toyota dealer's parts people and check out their options. I buy OEM hitch assemblies quite often and have NEVER had to cut anything or drill anything. Most use existing holes and mount up properly.

understand your point. if you look on the current 06-07 4runners with factory installed hitch, the rear bumper have a cut for the hitch receiver, mine doesn't. that's why I am wondering if I am to install an OEM hitch would my 4runner look like the ones that came out the factory?

hi,

i have an 07 4runner and have found the following......there are 2 bumper covers for the 06 and 07 4runners, one with the hitch and one without. to install the factory hitch you must either cut the cover you have or install the correct cover. if you cut the cover, how about sending me a pix of your result.
