What is the noise that some Pontiac Grand Prix make when accelerating? It's kind of a humming or squealing.
I am looking to purchase a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. When I test drove it it made a humming/squealing noise when it accelerated. The dealer told me a lot of Grand Prix do that, and I'm wondering what it is and if I should be concerned?

Could be a belt or something worse. Go find another one to test drive. I doubt that you'll be able to find another Grand Prix (or any car) that makes a squealing sound when you hit the gas. Unless you really, really hit the gas and peel out. :-) Your dealer is lying I think. I'd look elsewhere for a car.
