You mean the noise remains the full time you are in these gears, or the noise only occurs when you step on the clutch pedal, or the noise occurs only when you release the clutch pedal, or ???
it goes on the whole time im driving and switching gears it also does it while im sitting in neutral
So the noise wasn't there before the clutch was put in?
no the noise was there before the clutch was changed and the guy at the shop told me that once i drove it around for a while that the noise would go away but it didnt. now he saying that i may need a new transmission and i dont think hes right. only due to the fact that he was the one who told me to drive the truck until the noise went away
Well it's pretty lame to tell someone to drive until a noise goes away. I guess the only thing to do now is drain the transmission oil and look for metallic debris in there---AND go to another mechanic. Sounds like maybe a bearing noise in the tranny.
thank you i'll do that and see if you are right. i really appreciate the help
